Overall Job Purpose GI Sanctions Processing Team (“GISP”) has oversight of the Sanctions Processing adjudication operations. GISP Level 1 Team performs adjudications within various screening applications and provides guidance to underwriting based on potential alerts. If necessary GISP Level 1 Team will escalate matters to Local Compliance Teams for additional scrutiny.Hybrid Work Arrangement : The Sanctions Processing Analyst is a key leadership role within GI Sanctions Processing team (GISP) located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are in a hybrid work environment with 4-days in the office.Key Job Responsibilities : 1. The Sanctions Analyst performs investigations of data based on the information provided in Sanctions Screening application.
- Perform sanctions and Politically Exposed Persons (“PEPs”) screening of potential match review.
- Adjudicating potential matches.
- Documenting the rationale for the potential match resolution
- Reason codes pertaining to the potential match.
- Alert Regional Sanctions Processing Leads of any system anomalies, deficiencies and / or backlogs.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization.
- Sanctions compliance knowledge.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Microsoft Suite of products (Word, PowerPoint, Project, etc.) skills
- All identified breaches of the standards in the Statement.
- All identified breaches of the AIG Economic Sanctions Compliance Policy.5. Co-ordinate requests for exemptions from the screening requirements.6. Participate in periodic training sessions.7. Meet the Quality Assurance requirements and SLAs to support the business and Corporate Function.
- Required Minimum Knowledge and Skills :
- Must be analytical and meticulous.Minimum 2 to 3 years in a similar role in Banking / Financial / Insurance industry.Computer literate and a proficient user of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Must demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.Proficient in English – reading, writing and speaking. Ability & flexibility to work in a non standardized environment with occasional variables. A self-motivated team player with ability to take initiative.
