Overview
Position : Senior System Engineer (AS400) at private-company in Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Contract role.
Responsibilities
- Administer AS400 systems, including change control, programming, testing, bug resolution, temporary fix deployment, and health checks across various system modules.
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance for AS400 servers, and assist with audit-related activities.
- Perform daily system health checks and provide status updates to the line manager via email.
- Recommend improvements to enhance the availability, capacity, and performance of AS400 servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AS400 system issues.
- Participate in annual disaster recovery (DR) drills for AS400 across multiple country business units.
- Support testing efforts for AS400 middleware, operating system upgrades, monitoring tools, and backup solutions.
- Contribute to the upgrade of the Core Policy Administration System.
- Assist with the AS400 Cloud migration project, including logistics coordination and proof-of-concept (PoC) activities.
