Resident Engineer

A Resident Engineer (M&E) is a professional who is responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical and electrical engineering projects from start to finish. This typically includes ensuring that the design and implementation of the project is in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations, as well as ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required level of quality.

Job duties and responsibilities :

• Conducting site inspections and overseeing the construction process to ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
• Collaborating with the project team, including architects, contractors, and other engineers, to ensure that the project design meets all requirements and specifications.
• Managing the project budget and timeline, including developing and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
• Conducting regular project meetings to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of progress and to address any issues or concerns.
• Preparing regular progress reports for project stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Managing project change requests, including reviewing and approving all proposed changes to the project scope, timeline, and budget.
• Ensuring that all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date, including design plans, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks, including developing contingency plans to address potential issues.
• Providing technical support and guidance to project team members, including contractors and other engineers.

Requirements :

To be successful as a Resident Engineer (M&E), candidates should have a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field. They should also have a minimum of five years of experience working in the field, with a demonstrated track record of success in managing complex projects.
