About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager (GM) to lead our IT company in Malaysia. The GM will be responsible for overseeing operations, driving business growth, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions and services. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and hands-on management to achieve company objectives and maintain long-term competitiveness.
In addition, the GM will play a critical role in managing and expanding business relationships with Chinese clients in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, requiring excellent communication, cultural understanding, and the ability to drive client satisfaction across diverse markets. Proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is essential to effectively engage with clients and partners across these regions.
What you'll be doing
- Shape and execute business strategies to deliver revenue growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
- Lead annual planning cycles including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Oversee end-to-end operations across sales, project delivery, technical support, and administration to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
- Ensure governance and compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Cultivate and expand strategic relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business development and market growth.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage full financial oversight, including P&L responsibility, reporting accuracy, cost optimization, and risk management.
- Champion customer satisfaction and retention by ensuring service quality, timely delivery, and value-driven solutions.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).Minimum 10 years of experience in IT / technology industry with at least 5 years in a senior management role.Proven track record in business growth, P&L management, and strategic leadership.Strong understanding of IT solutions, software development, cloud services, or system integration.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is a strong advantage, as the role involves regular interaction and business dealings with Chinese clients.
