The Junior Data Migration Specialist will be responsible for collecting, finalising and prioritising with users of legacy systems on their business requirements for the legacy data. Additionally, any discrepancies and issues need to be identified and addressed in a timely manner to the decommissioning deadline of the legacy systems. The specialist will also ensure the migrated data is usable for users in the new system.
Principal Accountabilities
Assist in the data extraction and data verification activity to ensure completeness and accuracy of migrated data.
Design and implement structured workflows, including task delegation and tracking tools to improve team efficiency.
Coordinate and negotiate with users to resolve data issues encountered during data extraction and user requirements for data migration and reports.
Document the data extraction requirements for the implementation of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and assist the RPA developer in development efforts.
Track and update progress of activities within weekly meetings and ad hoc progress requests to ensure progress is on-track.
Support the upgrade, transition and validation of data to the data platform providing usable historical data to users.
Support in the understanding of historical reports and data when developing data models, reports or dashboards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to delegate tasks, manage timelines and deliverables.
Fundamental knowledge of financial statements and investment processes.
Able to program in Python and utilise common Python libraries such as pandas.
Strong computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
Must be independent, proactive working attitude, results oriented, and a strong desire to succeed.
Must think on their feet to address these issues swiftly. Their problem-solving responsibilities involve identifying root causes of issues, implementing corrective measures to minimize impact and ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or any degree of similar nature.
Minimum 2 years working experience.
Experience in legacy investment order management systems is an added advantage.
Well-understanding of investment processes and reporting is an advantage.
