JOB SUMMARY :

Sunway University is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Nursing within the Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences. The incumbent will play a key role in delivering high-quality education, spearheading research, and strengthening industry and regulatory collaborations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Research and Supervision

  • Conduct impactful research in areas such as Community Health, Midwifery, Intensive Care Nursing, Perioperative Nursing, Renal Nursing, Oncology Nursing, and Nursing Education / Management.
  • Publish high-quality research outputs, including journal articles, conference papers, and other peer-reviewed contributions.
  • Secure external research funding and grants.
  • Engage in collaborative research projects with colleagues within the University and external partners.
  • Supervise and mentor postgraduate students in their research projects.

Teaching Design

  • Plan and deliver lectures and tutorials appropriate to their discipline and specialty.
  • Assess student work and progress, providing constructive and timely feedback.
  • Contribute to the design, development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of academic programmes within the school.
  • Ensure relevant courses and programmes comply with the MQA regulatory body requirements.
  • Invigilate examinations and assessments, moderate exam papers.

    • Service

  • Participate in internal and external activities (i.e., Open days, outreach programmes, and institutional events).
  • Support senior colleagues in ensuring the smooth operation of the department and academic programmes.
  • Provide academic guidance and counselling to students, referring them to appropriate support services where necessary.

    • REQUIREMENTS :

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Candidates with a PhD or Doctorate in Nursing is preferred.
  • Possess a post-basic or advanced diploma in nursing specialty particularly in Community and Public Health.
  • Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board, with a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience.
  • Proven teaching experience in a higher education institution.
  • A strong record of research and supervision of postgraduate students to completion.
