Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the national downstream sales strategy in alignment with company objectives.
  • Achieve revenue, volume, and market share targets across all channels.
  • Implement pricing, promotions, and discounting structures in line with brand and financial guidelines.
  • Drive numeric and weighted distribution growth in targeted outlets nationwide.
  • Build, strengthen, and manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, key accounts, and retailers.
  • Lead negotiations with key accounts (e.g., hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies).
  • Ensure effective in-store execution including visibility, merchandising, and planogram compliance.
  • Monitor sell-in vs. sell-out performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a national sales team including regional sales managers, supervisors, and promoters.
  • Set clear KPIs, monitor field performance, and enforce accountability across sales teams.
  • Conduct regular sales reviews, territory audits, and market visits.
  • Ensure sales team capability building (negotiation, trade execution, performance management).
  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing & Branding teams to design and implement consumer promotions, trade campaigns, and seasonal programs.
  • Provide field feedback to marketing on consumer trends, competitive activities, and pricing dynamics.
  • Ensure alignment between sales execution and upstream brand / marketing initiatives.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and category dynamics to inform strategy.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and market intelligence to management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing controls, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of sales experience in FMCG / Consumer Goods, with at least 3-5 years in a senior national sales management role.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets in both modern trade and general trade.
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in sales data analytics, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ability to travel nationwide and lead a field force team effectively.
