Senior Manager, License Management (Malaysia, India)
Standard Chartered is recruiting for the Senior Manager, License Management (Malaysia, India) role. This position focuses on software license compliance and governance across desktop, server, and business applications. The role must be based in either India or Malaysia, with the chosen country indicated in the application process.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for performing software license compliance and governance activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to mitigate legal and financial risks associated with non‑compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Secure, rationalise and modernise our technology estate and on‑demand data environment.
- Strategise architectural design to fit future requirements, improve stability and security, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Drive technology simplification and automation.
- Improve operation efficiency and excellence.
Business
Manage the function’s preparedness for and response to audits, including reviewing the adequacy of management response to audit findings.Manage external vendor software audits from end to end and act as primary liaison point.Manage proactive internal compliance reviews, obtain usage and entitlement data to establish position, and drive clean‑up activities.Provide accurate and timely management summaries of progress to stakeholders.Own and drive transition of operational ownership of licence management activities within the department and support software clean‑up across the organisation.Serve as subject‑matter expert and provide leadership for the licence management programme, processes, tools and collaboration across SCB.Processes
Review licensing terms and contractual obligations.Review high / medium / low risk business applications and approve high‑risk usage request.Prepare and generate license compliance reports, dashboards, and metrics with data analysis.Maintain trending dashboards and business application reporting.Produce accurate reports and metrics to facilitate business decisions and support operational activities.People & Talent

Ensure effective governance, oversight, and controls in the business.Assess the effectiveness of the group’s arrangements and oversee changes in these areas.Understand regulatory framework and relevant requirements.Regulatory & Business Conduct

Our Ideal Candidates Should Have
Minimum 6–8 years of experience in software licensing models and management.Highly analytical and strong in complex license compliance reporting.Practical experience managing software asset or license management programmes for global firms.Familiarity with software license management principles, calculation methodologies, end‑to‑end process, discovery tools, and inventory products.Automation skills (SQL, Power Query, DevOps, Java, SharePoint).Reporting skill set (Tableau, Power BI, Python, Microsoft Excel).Qualifications
Education : Bachelor of Science in an IT related field.Training : ITIL Foundation, CSAM, ServiceNow SAM Pro.Certifications : ITIL Foundation, Certified Software Asset Manager, Certified Risk Professional.Languages : English.About Standard Chartered
