Responsibilities :

  • Database Design & Implementation :

Design and implement robust database structures to support business applications, ensuring data consistency and integrity.

  • Installation & Configuration :

    • Set up and configure database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL to meet operational needs.

  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization :

    • Continuously monitor database performance across platforms, identify bottlenecks, and apply necessary patches or updates. Conduct tuning activities to enhance database efficiency and resource utilization.

  • Security Management :

    • Implement comprehensive database security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access. Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Regularly update security measures to address evolving threats.

  • Backup & Recovery :

    • Develop and manage reliable backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity. Perform regular testing to verify data recovery procedures and ensure data availability.

  • Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution :

    • Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance lags, data inconsistencies, and connectivity problems.

  • Documentation :

    • Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, processes, and maintenance procedures.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :

    • Work closely with developers, system administrators, and IT teams to support database applications and drive performance enhancements.

  • Continuous Improvement :

    • Identify areas for improvement and implement database optimization strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Cloud Infrastructure Management :

    • Deploy, monitor, and maintain cloud-based database solutions. Ensure secure and scalable cloud environments through appropriate security and configuration practices.

  • Automation :

    • Create and maintain automation scripts / tools to streamline database management tasks and minimize manual effort.

    Key Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database administration or a similar technical role.
  • In-depth knowledge of DBMS technologies and architectures.
  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced query optimization techniques.
  • Strong background in backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and services.
  • Skilled in automation scripting and tooling.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring and database tuning tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator) are advantageous.
  • Willingness to be on-call and work outside regular hours for critical updates or maintenance.
  • Comfortable working with remote teams and third-party vendors to ensure database performance and integration.

  • Salary Range : up to RM7,500.00
  • Working Hour : Monday to Friday, 8.45AM to 5.45PM
