A global leader in software-connected automated test and measurement systems is seeking a Staff Hardware Digital Engineer to join its engineering team in Penang.
In this role, you will lead the redesign and validation of hardware systems, focusing on replacing end-of-life (EOL) components while minimizing changes to software and hardware topology.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and propose alternative components with minimal impact on system architecture.
- Simulate and implement designs using CAD tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics).
- Validate and debug hardware redesigns during verification and manufacturing builds.
- Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations using structured methods (e.g., fishbone diagrams).
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate DFM inputs and improve product yield.
- Develop proof-of-concept designs to support redesign proposals.
- Document project progress and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical documentation efforts.
- Create debug tools and training materials for manufacturing teams.
Key Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in analog / digital design, with expertise in board-level design or VHDL / System Verilog.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.Strong background in HDL IP design or digital circuit design.Experience with high-speed interface routing constraints.Proficient in CPU / SoC / Microcontroller circuit design.Skilled in using standard hardware lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies).Familiarity with test automation using scripting or programming languages.Demonstrated ability to : Diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.Learn new technologies and systems quickly.Take ownership of product success and drive tasks to completion.Manage time efficiently and work independently.Collaborate in fast-paced, team-oriented development environments.#J-18808-Ljbffr
