Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain full set of accounts, including general ledger, revenue, expenses, and cost allocations.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, review accounting entries, and manage month-end closing, stock schedules, and bank reconciliations.
  • Manage fixed assets and ensure accurate financial records in compliance with MFRS and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) for management review.
  • Develop cash flow projections and provide insights to support strategic financial planning.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations (SST, CP204, annual tax filing).
  • Handle foreign currency transactions, review and comment on related entries, and ensure currency exchange gains / losses are correctly charged to profit and loss.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and regulatory authorities for timely and accurate reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen internal financial controls.
  • Perform any other tasks or ad-hoc duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; ACCA / CPA or other professional qualification is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial accounting and reporting, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge in financial reporting, MFRS, and local tax compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and liaise effectively with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
