We are seeking a Lead Software Testing Engineer to join our team in Malaysia.

This is a hands-on role where the engineer will be responsible for designing and executing tests, performing analysis and defect management, and advising stakeholders on testing strategy and best practices. While no direct team leadership is expected, the role requires lead-level expertise to set direction, provide guidance, and ensure high-quality delivery.

Additional Information :

  • Daily tools : Jira, Confluence, Zephyr, Bruno, SQL Studio.
  • The business logic is large and complex, but domain knowledge can be developed with dedication.
  • Success in this role requires combining hands-on testing skills with senior-level judgment to provide direction and ensure effective testing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on functional testing, including test case design, execution and reporting, using Jira with Zephyr Enterprise
  • Conduct API testing with Bruno (or similar tools such as Postman)
  • Validate data using SQL Studio to support test coverage
  • Drive defect management, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice on testing strategy, tools, and methodologies to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the setup of testing services in Malaysia and knowledge transfer across teams

    • Requirements

  • Proven expertise in functional testing and strong skills in test design, analysis, execution, and reporting
  • Hands-on proficiency with Jira, Zephyr Enterprise, Confluence and Bruno / Postman
  • Basic knowledge of SQL databases for test validation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to advise stakeholders on testing approaches
  • Proactive, self-managed and adaptable in dynamic project environments
  • Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack in cloud-native systems

    • Nice to have

  • ISTQB certification
  • Experience in customer / project interviews
  • Knowledge of or exposure to transitioning from manual to automation testing
