Director of Operations (Water & Wastewater)

Role overview

The Operations Director leads the execution of all projects and service contracts across Southeast Asia. This includes managing Operations Leads to ensure delivery is safe, on-time, on-budget, and to specification, while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The role balances regional autonomy with the need for standardized, scalable execution processes. Responsibilities

1. Multi-Region Execution Leadership Lead and develop Execution Leads for Southeast Asia. Maintain delivery accountability for project and O&M contract P&L across the region. Oversee planning, resource allocation, and workload balancing between regions. 2. Delivery Excellence Standardize and enforce execution processes, tools, and KPIs across all regions. Support Execution Leads in resolving delivery challenges and escalations. Champion repeatable delivery models for WaaS, BOOT, and BOO projects. 3. Customer and Stakeholder Engagement Act as the final escalation point for operational issues in any region. Partner with Sales to validate operational feasibility, costs, and delivery schedules during bid stage. Maintain relationships with key customers and ensure delivery quality exceeds expectations. 4. Risk, Compliance, and Safety Ensure adherence to EHS, legal, and regulatory requirements across all operations. Maintain regional and country-specific risk registers and mitigation plans. 5. Continuous Improvement Embed digital tools and analytics into execution processes for predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, and efficiency tracking. Conduct post-project reviews with Execution Leads to capture lessons learned. 15+ years in project / service delivery leadership in industrial water, process industries, or equivalent sectors. Demonstrated success managing multi-country operations. Strong commercial and contractual acumen. Skilled in leading through both direct authority and influence.
