Job Overview : As the Business Performance Manager at Dialog Group Berhad, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and improving financial performance across the company’s business units. You will analyze financial statements, dissect cost structures, and work closely with senior leadership to optimize operations and enhance profitability. This role requires expertise in cost accounting, financial analysis, and performance management, along with a strong command of methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to achieve operational excellence through efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analyze financial statements and operational performance to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Break down operational costs, monitor key cost drivers, and recommend actions to optimize resource allocation.
  • Dissect complex cost structures to implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze variances between actual performance and budgets, providing insights to improve efficiency.
  • Develop cost models and scenarios to support decision-making and enhance financial outcomes.

Operational Efficiency and Quality Improvement :

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance process quality.
  • Implement performance improvement programs that drive cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce inefficiencies, optimize resource allocation, and improve business unit performance using data-driven decisions.
  • Drive substantial improvements in operational efficiency, cost management, and financial performance.
  • Performance Management :

  • Develop and implement performance management systems to monitor key financial and operational metrics (KPIs).
  • Diagnose performance bottlenecks and work with business units to address them.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to ensure that operational performance aligns with strategic goals.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution :

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategic initiatives aligned with long-term corporate objectives.
  • Provide financial and operational insights to support key decisions, particularly in business performance improvements.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making :

  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in operations.
  • Leverage data to provide actionable insights that drive profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Develop reporting systems to communicate progress, challenges, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of business performance initiatives with corporate goals.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and other departments to integrate performance improvements seamlessly across the organization.
  • Promote collaboration and the adoption of best practices in efficiency and quality management.
  • Risk and Compliance Management :

  • Identify potential risks related to cost inefficiencies and operational performance.
  • Ensure all performance management initiatives comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Job Requirements :

  • Educational Background : Bachelor's degree in economics, operation research, engineering, finance, accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or CIMA qualification is a plus. Certifications in Six Sigma, Lean Management, or other performance management systems are advantageous.
  • Professional Experience : Minimum of 8 years of experience in business performance management, cost accounting, financial analysis, and operational improvement, preferably within energy, manufacturing, supply chain management, or related industries. Proven track record of driving significant performance improvements and operational efficiencies. Experience in integrating best practices like Lean and Six Sigma into various business operations is highly desirable.
