Panasonic Information Systems Company Asia Pacific (PISCAP) is an IT solutions partner which provides IT Professional Services to 63 Panasonic Group companies in APAC Region, comprising of 7 Main Business Lines. PISCAP is an integral part of Panasonic Transformation journey. It is responsible for IT Leadership, Portfolio Management, Solutions Delivery and IT Operations with its Centre of Excellence in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. By leveraging on Panasonic’s merit of scale, PISCAP innovates and generate sustained value to the APAC business group.
Compute Engineer, Infrastructure Operations
Responsibilities
- Administer compute infrastructure including servers (infra, application, cloud), storage, data centres, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Ensure efficient utilization and maintenance of compute resources.
- Collaborate with compute lead, solution teams, and stakeholders to integrate infrastructure with systems and applications.
- Manage and administer server operating systems (Windows and non-Windows), including roles, features, cloud systems, update servers, and application servers.
- Oversee global identity and access management; conduct periodic access audits and maintain records for compliance.
- Monitor and analyse compute resource usage; identify optimization opportunities and plan for capacity.
- Implement performance tuning to enhance server reliability and efficiency.
- Conduct load testing and benchmarking to validate infrastructure performance under various workloads.
- Direct daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of compute systems; recommend improvements.
- Enforce security controls to protect infrastructure from unauthorized access, malware, and threats.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards; perform regular security assessments.
- Respond to incidents and service requests; diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Escalate complex issues to compute lead, manager, or vendors following incident management procedures.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to regional compute teams; promote automation and cloud technology adoption.
- Participate in audit exercises; ensure documentation and processes are up to date for compliance.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning and availability strategies.
- Recommend compute optimization strategies, including cost analysis for outsourced applications and systems.
- Prepare technical proposals for system upgrades, hardware changes, cloud resources, and recurring costs.
- Maintain and track compute operation reports; assist compute lead in keeping management informed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT roles such as compute infrastructure, system administration, or related areas.Strong knowledge in managing servers, operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and relevant Windows protocols.Proficient in cloud technologies, including hybrid, private, and public cloud environments.Experience supporting multinational corporations (MNCs) or working across the APAC region is a plus.Solid understanding of compute planning and resource management.We regret that only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
