The Position

We are looking for a dynamic and results‑oriented junior legal counsel to support our growing legal team globally. Based in our office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the Legal Counsel will be part of a global in‑house legal team with colleagues in Calgary, Canada and London, UK. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel based in London, UK, this role is essential to our legal team and will support our contract review process, corporate secretarial compliance, employment matters, and other legal research and support regionally or at a corporate level. The successful candidate will have qualified as a lawyer in Malaysia and have experience with contract review, corporate secretarial support, employment, and corporate law.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
Supporting internal stakeholders – finance, commercial team.
Providing proactive legal support on a broad range of matters.
Translate legal requirements into actionable guidance for internal stakeholders and provide support with practical input.
Support company secretarial matters across different jurisdictions.
Assist with research and analysis of legal and regulatory developments.
Provide proactive legal advice on risk management processes.
Provide legal support for ad‑hoc requests and projects.

Education & Experience

Qualified lawyer (Malaysia) with 1‑2 years’ PQE (in‑house or private practice).

Strong commercial experience dealing with third‑party contracts, NDAs and bespoke documents.

Experience working in an international corporation or multi‑jurisdictional environment will be considered an asset.

Able to work with various stakeholders and work independently.

Able to manage multiple projects and work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.
