What you'll do

Take ownership of the finance function in Malaysia, driving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial operations while supporting business growth initiatives.

Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with local statutory requirements and corporate policies.

Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that meet regulatory standards as well as internal management needs.

Drive the budgeting process by coordinating with various departments to develop robust forecasts and conduct detailed variance analysis for effective planning.

Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimise the company's financial resources and maintain operational stability.

Ensure full compliance with Malaysian tax laws, audit requirements, and other regulatory obligations by staying up-to-date with changes in legislation.

Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support business growth strategies and cost optimisation initiatives.

Lead, coach, and nurture the finance team by fostering a culture of operational excellence, continuous learning, and mutual support.

Collaborate closely with commercial, supply chain, and operational teams to provide financial guidance on key projects and initiatives.

Implement improvements to finance systems, policies, and processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across the department.

What you bring

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; professional certification such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA is highly regarded.

At least 8 years of relevant experience within finance roles, including a minimum of 3 years managing teams.

Comprehensive understanding of Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, statutory reporting requirements, and audit processes.

Experience in financial planning, analysis, and providing business partnership support that drives organisational objectives forward.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and foster trust within the team.

Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage complex tasks and tight deadlines.

Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities; experience supporting digital transformation in finance.

Experience collaborating across functions such as commercial or supply chain to bring holistic perspectives to financial decision-making.
