About the role
The Senior Site Safety Supervisor safeguards day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring all safety, health & environmental standards are met and that the project complies with Malaysian statutory requirements and company WSHE procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Daily Site Monitoring — Conduct regular inspections and safety patrols, identify and rectify unsafe acts or conditions, and exercise Stop‑Work Authority when necessary to prevent incidents.
- Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) Administration — Manage end‑to‑end PTW processes for hot work, work at height, lifting operations, confined space entry, and electrical isolation (LOTO); ensure proper documentation, filing, and traceability.
- Risk Management (HIRARC / RA) — Prepare and review Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) or Risk Assessment (RA) documents; monitor implementation of control measures and report any non‑conformance.
- Sub‑contractor Compliance — Monitor subcontractors’ work to ensure compliance with Malaysian OSH laws, project safety rules, and client requirements; elevate deviations promptly to the WSHE Officer.
- Training & Communication — Conduct toolbox meetings, site inductions, and focused safety briefings (e.g. Work at Height, lifting operations, electrical safety) to cultivate a proactive safety culture among all site personnel.
- Incident Management — Lead or assist in investigating accidents, near misses, or unsafe occurrences, ensuring timely Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and submission of reports in accordance with DOSH guidelines.
- Standardisation — Ensure consistent implementation of safety procedures, method statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in alignment with company WSHE standards and project specifications.
- Governance & Documentation — Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date safety records, inspection checklists, audit reports, and statutory registers for internal audits, DOSH inspections, and client reviews.
Skills & requirements
Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of construction site experience; exposure to data centre or industrial projects is a strong advantage.Education / Registration : Diploma in a safety‑related field; must be registered with NIOSH / DOSH / JKKP.Certification (Non‑negotiable) : DOSH Yellow Book (active) — valid and recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH).Standards & Tools : Solid working knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967 / BOWEC, HIRARC / RA, Permit‑to‑Work (PTW), Lock‑Out Tag‑Out (LOTO), Work at Height (WAH), and lifting safety controls; with strong documentation discipline.Value‑add : ISO 45001 : 2018 familiarity, First Aid and Emergency Response Plan (ERP) certification are added advantages.Value adds of the position
