Production Planning Manager - Prai

Overview

Production Planning Manager located in Prai, Penang. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedule.

What a typical day looks like

• Develop and manage production forecast based on master plan, timelines, and material needs to define production requirements aligned with plant capacity and company goals.
• Adjust plans as necessary to accommodate changes in demand, communicate updates to all relevant parties, and ensure material supplies meet changes.
• Produce revenue investigation and annual operating plan (AOP) and other forecast reports.
• Conduct studies relating to new products or processes to effect cost reduction and improvements.
• Report production status and issues to upper management.
• Liaise with operations to resolve daily production line disruptions and productivity issues.
• Develop and implement the company’s production control functions including Master Scheduling, Production Planning / Coordination, Shop Scheduling, and Dispatching.
• Develop material planning models to ensure proper material planning and optimal inventory positions for customer programs; utilize models for defining material planning parameters for components.
• Approve quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, receipt and issuance of production material requirements.
• Maintain reports reflecting scheduling, methods, hold up performance and process procedures.
• Interface with customers to ensure delivery commitments are met and with subordinates, peer group managers, and senior management.
• Interface with purchasing to expedite problem parts and reschedule material deliveries to avoid excess inventory.
• Notify Materials and Program Management of material situations affecting attainment of the production plan.
• Travel as necessary.
