Position Overview :

You will primarily focus on PHP backend development for web applications. Your responsibilities will include coding, debugging, testing and supporting our web-based projects. Additionally, you will be expected to tackle ad-hoc tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of our systems. Reliability and punctuality are essential in this role, as they directly impact our ability to meet client expectations and collaborate effectively as a team. Timely attendance, meeting deadlines and promptly responding to communications are key aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain PHP-based web applications, ensuring optimal performance, security and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality code.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve software defects and issues, performing bug fixes and updates.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing web applications, addressing user-reported problems and technical inquiries.
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and maintain coding standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest PHP and web development trends, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team.
  • Take on ad-hoc tasks and projects as required to support the overall goals of the company.
  • Document software processes and create technical documentation as needed.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Software Developer with a strong focus on PHP backend development.
  • Experience with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery for occasional frontend development tasks.
  • Knowledge of PHP frameworks like Codeigniter, Laravel or Symfony is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, and MSSQL)
  • Knowledge of MVC architecture and its implementation in web applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Able to start work with short notice will be an added advantage.
