Supply Planning Team Leader

The Supply Planning Team Leader will support the onboarding of a team of planners and provide day-to-day management and guidance to the team. They will be responsible for creating an open and supportive environment where people can learn and develop in their roles and contribute to the growth and success of the Business Technology Centre. Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are crucial for this role. The team leader supervises a team of supply planners, covering activities from performance reviews and continuous improvement to resource management. They act as an initial customer concern point for supply planning business issues, but are not responsible for the performance of every geographic market. The role includes stock optimization, capacity planning, and inventory management to ensure raw materials are delivered on time and to the right place for production planning. Maintaining clear business alignment and teamwork across Supply, Demand and Material Resource Planning will be fundamental to delivering successful outcomes from a production capacity perspective and for the timely delivery of finished goods to meet customer demand and business needs. The role holder must be willing to challenge the status quo and share viewpoints with leadership.

Proven experience leading and developing teams; building and supporting a new team experience would be highly valued.

Experience in handling and measuring performance and conducting employee performance reviews.

Highly skilled at fostering communication that meets the needs of all team members, and adept at creating an open work environment.

Skilled at providing feedback and ongoing coaching to their teams.

Supply Network Planning Expertise

Accountable for conducting supply network analysis and providing projections that identify constraints and mitigation options, with recommendations to S&OP and Supply Review teams.

Own the finished goods stock allocation process and oversee inventory management practices, maintaining alignment with forecasted demand, service level targets and internal policies.

Responsible for supply planning data including creation and ongoing maintenance in line with Centre of Excellence data governance policies and guidance.

Provide support and data for New Product Introductions (NPI) or Tender opportunities, demonstrating scenario planning and ensuring material readiness and production availability.

Collaboration & Customer Management

Work closely with Supply Planning Delivery lead, MPS, MRP planners, Procurement and plant teams to align production and replenishment strategies with business objectives (e.g. Make to order, make to stock).

Support S&OE and S&OP processes by working with S&OE Planning Delivery Leads and S&OP Manager, providing insights to resolve supply constraints and improve availability while balancing cost and inventory.

What You Will Need To Be Successful Education :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.

Experience :

Minimum of 5 years in supply planning, replenishment, or inventory management within FMCG, food & beverage, or manufacturing industries.

Ability to lead, empower and develop a team of planning professionals (ideally within a global environment) including performance management.

Prior line management experience is needed for this position.

Experience in performance management, including setting objectives, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.

Proven expertise in Supply planning – preferably with experience leading the function in a global or international business and with an understanding of the production planning process from raw materials through to finished goods.

Strong analytical ability to analyze complex data and identify trends.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with partners and colleagues at all levels and with diverse collaborators.

Highly proficient in Digital Planning tools (ideally Kinaxis) and exposure to ERP systems (SAP ECC, S4 Hana).

Curious attitude focused on problem-solving and using data and analytics to enable business growth.

Good coaching and mentoring skills to develop team members’ capabilities.

Experience with recruiting and onboarding teams (desirable).
