Senior Engineer, Piping Stress

We are currently seeking a Senior Piping Stress Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur. Successful candidates will be offered Fixed Term Contract.

About The Job

• He / She reports directly to the Piping Stress Lead (on Projects he / she is assigned to) for all stress activities on a project for all tasks pertaining to adequacy of pipe stress and flexibility analysis, and related piping design activities, and administration matters.
• Responsibilities shall include the following but not limited to :
• Prepare the Job Specification for Stress Analysis.
• Prepare list of critical lines.
• Prepare Stress Calculation Notes.
• Liaise with Piping Designer on matters of pipe routing to achieve the requirements of a satisfactory pipe stress analysis. This may include recommendation on position and selection of various support types (anchors, guides, springs, sliding plates, etc.) for acceptable stress levels and satisfactory support loads.
• Ensure that all piping systems are adequately supported and where necessary specify spring, sliding plates and other special pipe supports.
• Advise Lead if expansion joints, bellows and other similar special units are needed.
• Liaise with Mechanical Engineers for all matters concerning nozzle loads on equipment.
• Prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations / tabulations for the supply of Vendor-supplied special support items like spring supports, rigid struts, sliding plates, etc. and other special units like bellows and expansion joints.
• Review the support types and location indicated on the IFC isometric in accordance with approved stress isometrics.
• Prepare pipe support loading sheets for Civil / Structural design.
• Prepare specifications, data sheets, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations / tabulations.
• Liaise with Mechanical Engineers for all matters concerning nozzle loads on equipment.
