The Financial (Deals) Associate will be a part of our Singapore office, which is the center of excellence within APAC, and will have the opportunity to work on cross-border assignments within the region. This role will be valuations-focused but will also have opportunities to work on other M&A advisory related assignments. This position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
Market and Industry Research
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics relevant to client engagements.
Financial Modelling and Valuation
Build and maintain financial models to assess business performance and value companies using appropriate valuation methodologies (e.g., DCF, market multiples).Assist in identifying and valuing intangible assets such as brand, technology, customer relationships, and goodwill for financial reporting, tax, or M&A purposes.Projection Analysis
Review and assess financial forecasts and projections, benchmarking against industry standards and historical performance to evaluate reasonableness.Transaction Services Support
Participate in due diligence assignments, including financial, commercial, and operational reviews, and assist in preparing completion accounts and related analyses.Report Preparation
Draft high-quality deliverables including valuation reports, due diligence findings, and presentation materials in accordance with international valuation standards and / or financial reporting frameworks.Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.Minimum 1 year experience for associate in valuation or corporate finance (2-3 years for senior).Relevant certifications (CFA, CVA, CA, RICS or ASA) is a plus.Able to work independently.Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.Familiar with common valuation methodologies and approaches.Familiar with the use of research / technical tools such as S&P CIQ, Mergermarket, BloombergBasic understanding of relevant financial reporting standards.Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.Forvis Mazars Asia Pacific Services Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Mazars Asia Pacific Services Sdn Bhd) is a Malaysia incorporated company and a member firm of Forvis Mazars, an international Advisory and Accountancy Group that operates as a single integrated partnership.
