Overview

Sports Direct Malaysia is looking for a Social Media Executive to join our growing team. The role supports social media across Malaysia and Singapore accounts, aligned with Retail and E-Commerce events and launches.

Sports Direct Malaysia operates 40 retail stores domestically and manages a proprietary SportsDirect.com e-commerce site for domestic and regional fulfillment. Sports Direct Malaysia offers over 70 leading authentic global sports brands, providing wide variety and value. The company employs over 1000 staff with plans to expand rapidly across Asia in the coming years.

We have developed a new generation of stores as part of our multi channel elevation strategy, to enhance the customer experience at every step of the journey. The stores are zoned by key sports categories including : SD Football, SD Running, SD Training (fitness, cross training, gym equipment, weights, boxing, yoga), SD Rackets (badminton, tennis, squash), SD Swimming (pool, water sports), SD Sports (basketball, rugby, cycling, skate & indoor games), SD Lifestyle (Men, Women & Kids) & SD Outdoor (Hiking, trekking, camping & fishing).

Location : Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia; Job Type : Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation – Develop engaging, creative contents that align with Retail and E-Com events, promotions & launches
  • Scheduling – Ensure contents are distributed on channels at the right time based on content calendar. Channels covered include SD Malaysia IG, FB and TikTok; SD Singapore FB, IG; and any other accounts added
  • Community Management – Oversees all social media accounts, manage messages, respond to customers’ queries on time
  • Analyze – Stay up to date, explore potential trends and all new developments such as legal changes, new platforms and features
  • Multi-Lingual Copywriting (Bahasa, English) – Write strong, creative captions, templates for each post upon publishing contents
  • Any other lawful assignment required by higher management from time to time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising or relevant field
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, specializing in social media marketing
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Facebook Advertising, TikTok advertising is an advantage
  • Passion for social media
  • Highly creative with excellent analytical abilities
  • Multitasker, creative copy writing, understanding sales funnel
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional advantage if able to speak Mandarin
  • Pro-active / ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to deliver end results
