GENERAL MANAGER, CORPORATE PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT
To lead the organisation’s corporate planning, strategic growth, investment management and business development initiatives. This role drives long-term direction, strengthens business performance, and supports the company aspiration. The General Manager will serve as a key advisor to top management and the Board of Directors.
Strategic Planning & Policy
Develop the company’s vision, mission, and long-term strategic plans.
Analyze industry trends, policies, technology shifts and global developments.
Formulate and update corporate policies (investment, ESG, partnerships, governance).
Align subsidiary strategies with group objectives and prepare scenario planning.
Advise the CEO and Board through strategy papers and policy recommendations.
Investment & Project Management
Evaluate and recommend new investments, M&A and JV opportunities.
Prepare feasibility studies, business cases and financial projections.
Manage the investment portfolio, including expansion and divestment strategies.
Oversee project performance and propose corrective actions.
Advise on strategies and coordinate risk assessments.
Corporate Business Development
Identify and assess new business ventures, tenders and partnership proposals.
Develop diversification strategies and new business models.
Conduct market research on demand, trends and competitor activity.
Build collaborations with government, GLCs, private sector and investors.
Prepare strategic proposals and project papers for management and Board review.
Business Performance & Compliance
Monitor performance of key sectors against KPIs, budgets and targets.
Evaluate operational efficiency, productivity and service / output quality.
Ensure compliance with regulations, ESG requirements and company policies.
Identify operational issues and recommend interventions.
Promote innovation, technology adoption and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
Postgraduate qualifications or certifications are an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 10 years’ experience in corporate planning, strategic management or business development.
Proven track record in leading and executing corporate strategies that drive growth and profitability.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
Deep understanding of industry trends, governance, policies and market dynamics.
Experience in investment evaluation, project monitoring and corporate growth planning.
Digitally savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office and related tools.
Strong leadership with the ability to collaborate effectively.
Independent, disciplined and results-oriented.
Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement.
