Loan Payment Senior Analyst - Assistant Vice President

The Loan Payment Senior Analyst will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of various loan payment (principal, interest, fee, etc.). This role requires a strong understanding of payment systems, regulations, and operational best practices. The AVP will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, and fostering a high-performance team culture. The successful candidate will also contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing payment processing capabilities and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of loan payment specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews including objective-setting, driving staff training and development needs.
• Review workload distribution for the team, ensuring optimal resource allocation and coverage.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and customer focus within the team.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of both corporate and agency payment processing, ensuring adherence to established operation manuals, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor loan payment queues, investigate and track payment status, resolve any payment exceptions, and elevate complex issues as necessary.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all loan related payment transactions.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
• Produce monthly volume and KPI information as required by management and necessary presentation materials for monthly review.
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant payment regulations including US and local sanctions.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate operational and financial risks associated with loan payment processing.
• Conduct regular reviews of loan payment activities to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
• Act as a point of contact for internal and external audits related to loan payment operations.
• Ensure documentation is maintained for all corporate and agency loan payment processes in scope, working with other teams within the department and bank to ensure processes are robust and fit for purpose.
• Collaborate effectively with internal departments such as Technology, Product, Compliance, Risk, and Client Services to resolve issues and improve payment processes.
• Communicate effectively with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners regarding payment inquiries or issues.
• Participate in, lead and drive projects related to new loan payment systems, system enhancements, and process automation.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of initiatives aimed at modernizing payment infrastructure and improving overall payment experience.
• Analyse loan payment data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
