Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring database reliability, performance, scalability, and security across multiple environments, supporting both internal teams and client-facing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relevant platforms).
- Monitor database performance and proactively resolve issues, including slow queries, locking, and resource utilization.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure database security by managing access controls, encryption, and compliance with data protection policies.
- Perform regular maintenance, patching, and upgrades to ensure system stability and security.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and business teams to design and optimize database structures, queries, and stored procedures.
- Automate routine tasks and support DevOps processes for database deployments.
- Troubleshoot database-related incidents and provide timely resolutions.
- Document database architecture, processes, and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as a Database Administrator (3–5+ years).Strong expertise in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.Experience with backup / recovery tools, replication, and high availability solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, RAC, clustering).Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.Strong knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.Solid understanding of data security practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and collaboration skills.What We Offer
