This is a critical, customer-facing role responsible for acting as the primary

Technical Solutions Expert

and engineering liaison, focusing on

pre-sales design-in technical guidance

and

post-sales quality issue resolution . The role reports to the

FA Application Engineer Manager based in Singapore

and is part of a regional team comprising over 10 Field Application Engineers. The Engineer’s mandate is to drive the technical design-in of the client’s products into complex customer assemblies, manage all related quality assurance issues as a first responder, and enable commercial success through deep technical partnership with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) globally. Responsibilities

Technical Consulting & Design-In : Custom Solution Engineering :

Proactively propose and engineer customized hardware or unique fastening architectures to solve complex customer assembly challenges and meet design requirements.

Technical Authority :

Function as the primary

Technical Solutions Expert

for all client queries regarding the implementation and usage of the client’s mechanical fastening technology.

Schematics & Documentation :

Conduct detailed analysis of customer engineering schematics and coordinate directly with clients for design clarity. Systematically log all design-in activities and critical interactions within the enterprise CRM system.

Testing Coordination :

Collaborate with manufacturing teams to manage and execute prototype testing, delivering comprehensive technical reports to clients.

Quality & Compliance Leadership (First Responder) : Customer QA Response :

Serve as the First Line of Response for all customer quality concerns, coordinating all QA activities (RMA, corrective action reports, sorting) with both the client and the factory.

On-Site Resolution :

Where possible and viable, conduct site visits to perform hands-on problem resolution and root-cause analysis for quality deviations.

Critical Documentation :

Manage the coordination and submission of critical compliance and product documentation, including material data sheets (like IMDS / MSDS) and product qualification process documents (like PPAP).

System Integrity :

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the internal Quality Management System by participating in ISO 9001 : 2015 system review and process documentation updates.

Sales Enablement & Market Insight : Training & Support :

Provide advanced technical training to internal sales teams and external partners on product usage, competitive analysis, and application best practices.

Market Promotion :

Support the launch of new products and assist the commercial teams with preparing for product demonstrations and exhibitions (roadshows).

Data Analysis :

Prepare and compile recurring data-driven reports on regional quality trends, performance metrics, and market advancements for management review.

Resource Management :

Manage the involvement in budgeting of expenses and capital expenditures for the Field Applications Engineering department.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Minimum Education :

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Industrial Engineering) is mandatory.

Professional Experience :

Proven professional experience (minimum 2+ years) with mechanical hardware integration, or substantial experience (minimum 5+ years) in sheet metal component manufacturing processes.

Preferred Background :

Experience engaging with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in high-tech sectors such as Automotive, Cloud / Data Center Infrastructure (Datacom), or Consumer Electronics is highly preferred.

Hands-On Contribution :

This role requires a highly hands-on and direct contribution mindset. Candidates whose experience is predominantly in team management will not be suitable, as the role involves directly tackling and resolving technical and quality issues on-site.
