Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Manager to join our fast‑growing accounting team. Responsibilities include developing a product costing model; designing and implementing cost management processes; providing analysis and insight into gross margin results; developing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory data and inventory reserves; performing month‑end close process; planning and managing cycle count and annual physical inventories; coordinating with external and internal auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit; developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to ensure SOX 404 compliance; participating in MES, ERP and MRP system development and enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Develop product costing model for inventory valuation.
- Design and implement cost management processes and use appropriate costing methodologies to report costs of goods sold, material, labor and other overhead cost.
- Partner with Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure Bill of Material accuracy including knowledge of cost reduction impact on financials.
- Gross margin results (gross margin $ and gross margin %) analysis.
- Production Order analysis for material and conversion cost variance, BOM or usage variance, product mix variance.
- Partner with Engineering and Supply Chain teams to monitor and fix the fallout issue of production order interfaced from MES to ERP.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain organizations to develop processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory data.
- Own and execute month‑end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and analyses related to cost of goods sold, as well as inventory valuation, balances, adjustments and reserves.
- Plan and manage cycle count and annual physical inventories.
- Develop processes to evaluate inventory reserves.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures with respect to inventory and inventory related accounts.
- Document controls, processes and procedures related to manufacturing accounting and ensure SOX 404 compliance.
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Accounting on quarterly / annual supplemental financial disclosure reporting and analysis (e.g. significant purchase commitments, spend by vendor, embedded derivative questionnaires, etc.).
- Participate in MES, ERP and MRP system development and enhancements.
- Take on additional duties and ad‑hoc projects as required.
Qualifications And Expectations
Bachelor's degree in accounting. US GAAP experience required. At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience, including direct experience in a cost accounting role for a manufacturing company.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to act as a business partner and communicate with senior management.Proven track record of success and increased levels of responsibility.Self‑motivated with the ability to perform at a high level in a dynamic environment. Advanced Excel skills & proficiency in Word & PowerPoint; familiarity with Dynamics 365 ERP is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
