Job Summary
The Assistant Supervisor Engineering (E / M) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems within the facility. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and supporting the Engineering Executive in executing maintenance strategies. The position also ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and control panels.
- Conduct inspections and servicing of mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, and plumbing.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns involving E / M systems.
2. Troubleshooting & Technical Support
Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical systems (e.g., wiring, breakers, motors) and mechanical components (e.g., compressors, valves).Collaborate with the Engineering Executive and team members to address complex E / M issues.Support system upgrades and new installations with technical expertise.3. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Follow all safety procedures during electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, mechanical standards, and local regulations.Participate in safety drills, toolbox meetings, and mandatory training sessions.4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of electrical and mechanical maintenance activities.Update service logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation as required.Ensure all E / M system documentation is current and properly filed.Assist the Engineering Executive in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules.Coordinate with technicians and other departments to ensure smooth operations.Provide support during E / M-related projects, installations, and system commissioning.Qualifications
Diploma or certification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Minimum 2–3 years of experience in building engineering and maintenance.Valid Electrical Chargeman Certificate (preferably A1 or higher).Certification in Solar PV Systems (e.g., SEDA Malaysia’s Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) Systems Design Course, SHRDC Solar PV Professional Development Program, or CENTEXS Smart Solar PV Certificate) is an added advantage.Strong knowledge of electrical systems (power, lighting, controls) and mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing).Proficient in fault diagnosis and problem-solving.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Familiarity with maintenance management software is an advantage.Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.Knowledge of general building construction is an added advantage.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.Attention to detail and organizational ability.Effective communication and teamwork.Sound understanding of safety and compliance requirements.Working Conditions
Primarily site-based with occasional office-related tasks.May require working outside regular hours for emergency maintenance.Exposure to electrical and mechanical environments.Job Segment
