Job Overview
The Ship Finance Manager plays a critical leadership role in maintaining the financial health of the entire cruise ship operation. The role oversees financial performance across gaming, hotel, food & beverage (F&B), entertainment, and general ship operations, ensures compliance with maritime and industry-specific regulations, drives profitability, and provides strategic financial insights to senior management.
Working Location : Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the ship’s finance team, including accountants, cage managers, hotel finance staff, and inventory controllers.
- Provide guidance and supervision through direct and indirect reporting lines.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for all onboard departments : hotel, F&B, gaming, entertainment, and ship operations.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to enhance revenue and cost efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, revenue tracking, and financial risk across all business units.
- Monitor daily revenue reconciliation from hotel bookings, dining outlets, bar sales, gaming, entertainment, and other sources.
- Ensure adherence to maritime financial regulations, gaming laws, hospitality standards, and tax requirements.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports.
- Oversee financial audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Implement and manage ERP systems, financial software, and onboard accounting technologies.
- Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets.
- Manage shipboard inventory control, procurement, and expense tracking.
- Collaborate with ship leadership, department heads, and corporate executives to support strategic planning.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, and suppliers.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.5–7 years of financial management experience, ideally in gaming, hospitality, cruise, or maritime industries.Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.Knowledge of hospitality revenue management, gaming financial regulations, and maritime compliance is a plus.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience in system setup and team establishment.Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience managing finance teams across multiple revenue centers.Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.#J-18808-Ljbffr
