The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees within the oil mill, including local and foreign workers. This role requires strong knowledge of Malaysia’s statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, HRDF, Income Tax, and Labour Law) and experience in handling complex payroll structures involving shift work, overtime, allowances, and deductions.
The Payroll Specialist works closely with the HR, Finance, and Plant / Factory Management teams to ensure wages, overtimes, benefits, and statutory contributions are calculated and disbursed correctly. In addition, the role involves maintaining precise payroll records, reconciling payroll data, ensuring compliance with audits, and providing clear payroll and labour cost reports to management.
Given the oil mill’s operational needs, the Payroll Specialist must be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of handling high-volume data. A key focus of the role is to monitor, and report overtime (OT) costs of the plant to support cost efficiency and transparency.

Job Requirements / Qualifications
Education : Diploma / Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience : Minimum 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing / oil mill environment with more than 300 workforce. Those without degree but with >
10 years in payroll hands-on experience in oil mills industry would be encouraged to apply.
Strong understanding of Malaysia Labour Law, Employment Act, and statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, HRDF, Income Tax).
Proven experience in handling overtime (OT) payroll and cost analysis in labour-intensive industries.
Familiarity with foreign worker payroll requirements, including levy and deductions.
High attention to detail and accuracy in payroll calculations.
Strong analytical skills to monitor labour costs and OT trends.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, reporting).
Good communication and problem-solving skills to liaise with employees and management.
Other Requirements :
Experience in industries with high overtime (>
300 workforce) and shift-based operations is highly advantageous.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Salary RM5,000 to 6,800
