We are seeking a talented individual to join our DBA team. This role will be based in our Pavilion Damansara Corporate Towers, Kuala Lumpur office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working as per respective team's arrangement.

In this capacity, the responsibilities will include : creating, supporting and maintaining MongoDB, PostgreSQL and other databases managed by the Database Services team.

Education and Experience

This position requires a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology with a minimum of 4 years hands-on experience as database administrator of MongoDB and PostgreSQL Databases in production environment.

We will rely on you to :

Build / Configure PostgreSQL database cluster and replication
Build / Configure Mongo RS and shard
Fine-tune configurations MongoDB and servers for performance improvement.
Configure Barman server for new database cluster
Install PostGIS / pgAudit and other required extension
Responsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases.
Estimate database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime.
Responsible for regular backups and recovery of databases.
Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving).
Responsible for pro-active remediation of database operational problems.
Responsible for Query tuning and preventative maintenance.
Implement best practices for backups, replication, and health checks.
Design and implement DR plans & HA solutions and recommendations.
Work closely with the application team to understand what changes are coming in a build / patch / hotfix, do an impact analysis, fine-tune the queries if any.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and other Requirements

Understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code.

Encryption(TLS 2)

Strong DBA Experience MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

Strong scripting experience - Unix / Shell Scripting, Python

Technical knowledge of Linux & Windows-based platforms

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

LDAPs configuration for authentication

Experience in providing after hours emergency support

Working on rotational shifts between 6am - 10pm local time, may include Sat / Sun.

Desired Skills :

Hands-on experience in AWS

Disaster Recovery and Business continuity

Hybrid work model, including flexibility for remote work and collaboration in the office. Colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week.

Flexibility is required in this role, so from time to time, the individual may need to work longer hours or outside of regular working hours in the event of critical issues requiring expedited problem management support.

Global support coverage required inclusive of coverage for Pacific timezone. With this, candidate must be available for early morning shifts.
