We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Travel Sales Consultant to join our outbound travel team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling travel arrangements, building client relationships, and coordinating with overseas partners, especially in China.
This position requires excellent communication skills in Chinese (Mandarin), as you will frequently liaise with Chinese tour guides and ground agents to ensure smooth travel operations for our clients.
Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Mandarin-Speaking Travel Sales Consultant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be the key architect of our clients' dream holidays, primarily focusing on outbound tours. Your fluency in Mandarin will be crucial for seamless communication with our overseas tour guides and ground agents in China and other Mandarin-speaking regions, ensuring the highest level of service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Client Consultation & Sales :
- Consult with clients to understand their travel needs, preferences, and budget.
- Design, customize, and propose compelling travel itineraries and packages (e.g., group tours, FIT, honeymoon packages).
- Prepare accurate quotations and confidently close sales to meet and exceed individual and team targets.
- Promote and upsell value-added services such as travel insurance, visa assistance, and special experiences.
- Operational Coordination (Mandarin-Centric) :
- Serve as the primary liaison between the agency and Mandarin-speaking tour guides and ground agents in destination countries.
- Communicate detailed client requirements, special requests, and itinerary specifics clearly and accurately in both written and spoken Mandarin.
- Coordinate and confirm bookings for accommodations, transportation, tours, and activities through our overseas partners.
- Proactively address and resolve any operational issues that arise during the travel planning stage with ground agents.
- Customer Service & Administration :
- Handle all booking-related paperwork, including reservations, payments, and travel documents with meticulous attention to detail.
- Provide clients with comprehensive pre-departure information and briefings.
- Offer support and act as a point of contact for clients before their travel, addressing any last-minute queries.
- Market Knowledge :
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of travel trends, destination information, visa requirements, and travel advisories for key outbound destinations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas suppliers and partners.
Qualifications and Skills :
Proven experience as a Travel Consultant, Travel Advisor, or in a similar role within an outbound travel agency.Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (both spoken and written) is MANDATORY. Must be able to negotiate, clarify details, and build rapport confidently with tour guides and agents in China.Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.Strong sales acumen and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.In-depth knowledge of international travel destinations, particularly long-haul markets.Proficiency in computer reservations systems (e.g., Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre) and standard office software.Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.Meticulous, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environmentDiploma / Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
