Asst Manager / Manager, Procurement & Vendor Development (for Operating Company)

Job will be based at HICOM Automotive Manufacturers (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. located in Pekan, Pahang. Responsibilities

Ensure all issuance of Purchase Orders (PO) comply with company procedures. Monitor Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Delivery Instructions (DI), including preparing ageing reports. Drive cost reduction and savings initiatives through negotiation, benchmarking, supplier sourcing, and cost analysis. Report daily activities and action plans to the Head of Company. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, clients, and internal teams. Execute tender exercises for CAPEX and projects. Manage and establish supplier profiles and categorization, including resolving supplier delivery performance issues with relevant departments. Ensure audits are conducted as scheduled and implement corrective actions where required. Promote 5S implementation and continuous improvement within the department. Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety standards, and emergency response requirements. Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Company. Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations as outlined in the Safety, Health, and Environmental Compliance Restructuring (dated 10 November 2023). Requirements

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Experience in manufacturing or mechanical industries; automotive background is an added advantage. Knowledge and compliance with customer requirements, company procedures, legal / regulatory standards, and ISO requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001). Ability to assist and support the Head of Division in planning, organizing, and managing daily Procurement & Vendor Development (PVD) operations. Act as 1st Level Appraiser for the Performance Management System (PMS) for direct reports, prior to endorsement by the Head of Division. Strong leadership qualities with a charismatic approach. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Resourceful and tactful in handling crisis situations. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
