Overview
The Sr. Graphic Designer will be responsible for conceptualising and creating solutions across a variety of media, including print collateral, packaging, environmental signage, brand guidelines, logos and identities, advertising, motion graphics, web design, and other visual elements. This person will also serve as a Lead designer in the department, providing creative and art direction for multiple assets. The Sr. Designer will have authority to approve specific projects, address changes with Project Managers, and constantly communicate project updates to the Creative Services Manager. They will implement industry best practices, stay informed about the latest trends, propose AI and innovation in the design vertical, and maintain the Herbalife brand’s relevance in collaboration with writers, production artists, video editors under the supervision of the Creative Services Manager.
Responsibilities
- Independently conceptualise, art‑direct and design various company and sales and marketing‑driven design initiatives.
- Partner closely with the Design Manager to carry out the creative vision and understand strategies and goals set by project managers.
- Design and art‑direct Marketing, Event, and Sales‑driven executions for various media, including print, web, video, and environmental branding items for global clients.
- Proactively pitch creative, innovative, and engaging design solutions while working for various clients, creating designs that consider regional aesthetics and stakeholder needs.
- Ensure constant and accurate communication among all team members, including designers, writers, production artists, and managers.
- Train, supervise and mentor a team of designers as needed.
- Report timelines, issues, and concerns, and maintain open communication with the Creative Services Manager.
- Consistently follow Herbalife brand guidelines across all touchpoints.
- Conceptualise ideas independently for multiple departments and functions.
- Collaborate on creating brand style guides, branding assets and 360‑degree creative campaigns.
- Integrate both copy and design into compelling solutions.
- Drive the Herbalife brand across all design vehicles—packaging, advertising, facilities branding, brand style guides, and other requests.
- Occasionally provide art direction or design direction on projects within other sub‑teams.
- Ensure deadlines are met and manage expectations with Project and Creative Managers.
Supervisor Responsibilities
Experience leading Design / Creative teams, providing creative feedback and making high‑impact strategic decisions regarding creative projects.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Acrobat and all MS Office applications.Very skilled at conceptualising ideas and communicating effectively with team members.Strong organisational abilities, including time‑management and communication skills to multitask and manage projects with overlapping deadlines.Independent follow‑up ability, attention to detail, strong sense of ownership and monitoring.Deep and broad knowledge across multiple communication vehicles : Internet, print, packaging, corporate ID, systems‑based design, style guides, advertising, catalogues, video, and environmental design.Experience with photo shoots, art direction and colour correction.Ability to work under pressure.Presentation development and delivery to senior executives.Languages
Advanced English (required).Knowledge of Malay and Simplified Chinese / Mandarin is an added advantage.Experience
8+ years of hands‑on design experience.Experience with in‑house creative agencies, creative studios, advertising agencies and / or design firms.Experience with digital design.Experience leading and mentoring designers, AI and the latest innovative design techniques preferred.Experience managing outside vendors—photographers, illustrators, stock photography houses, etc.Education
BA, BFA or higher in Design or Fine Arts with emphasis in Graphic Design or Advertising from an accredited art school or design institution.Preferred Qualifications
Premier, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, and Motion Graphics.Knowledge of Flash, After Effects or other motion graphics.Experience working in a fast‑paced, large‑scale creative environment with tight deadlines.Position type : Full‑time. Salary range : MYR3,500.00 – MYR4,500.00.
