Job Title : Supervisor Accounting
Job Purpose :
The Supervisor Accounting is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and accounting operations. This role involves managing a team of accountants, coordinating financial processes, providing analytical support, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
Job Responsibilities :
- Oversee full sets of accounts for multiple clients in various industries.
- Prepare accounts on a timely basis for weekly, month-end, and financial year-end closings, along with aging reports and listings (if required)
- Review and ensure the accuracy of accounting reports and deliverables prepared by junior staff, when necessary.
- Support the management in planning efforts and supervise junior staff to maintain efficiency.
- Independently manage accounting and management reports, ensuring deadlines are met with minimal supervision.
- Submit accounting reports and deliverables within agreed timelines.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monitor unusual items, investigate discrepancies, and manage movements.
- Ensure client deliverables meet quality and timing expectations.
- Resolve queries from stakeholders and ensure action points are addressed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities on financial and tax matters.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Provide guidance and training to junior team members on accounting principles, processes, and software.
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as the main point of contact for accounting-related queries.
- Handle additional ad hoc tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL system is an added advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to guide and mentor junior staff.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in an outsourced accounting firm is an added advantage.
