Engineer - Plant Builder (Control and Instrumentation)

Act as a technical generalist in a variety of disciplines including but not limited to equipment, process, mechanical, civil, structural, piping, electrical and instrumentation.

Act as the overall coordinator for all internal & external engineering on projects as required. In this capacity is responsible for the successful design, implement, commission and hand-over of projects assigned by Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases & elements reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer, requirements performances Standards; completing technical studies, preparing cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains project data base by writing computer programs; entering and backing up data.
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Process Improvement

  • Acts as an internal consultant for location to lead, define & develop continuous improvement activities & redesign activities.
  • Responsible for the support & integration of continuous improvement efforts at the site which includes completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
  • Plans & coordinates training to others who will support the execution of continuous improvement strategies and tools.
  • Leads problem solving efforts to improve quality & eliminate waste / cost of poor performance at the each plant.
  • Applies statistical method / analysis to improve process capability, reduce process variation & optimizes break-through performances.
  • Design, drive and perform operational analysis of the manufacturing processes.
  • Identifies key elements of process improvement and partners with process owners to deliver sustainable and repeatable change.
  • Develops and prepares the improvement indexes and related reports.
  • Functions as a process improvement expert regarding tasks, projects, and operations.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Fresh graduate or minimum 1 year experience in Control and Instrumentation field.
  • Knowledge in sensor and wiring installation.
  • Knowledge in Programming for PLC (Ladder Diagram) — Siemens, Fatek.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requirements analysis, Design Skills, Project Management, Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Process Improvement, Technical Understanding, Documentation Skills, Safety Management, Supervision, CAD / CAM Circuit Design.
