Mandarin Teacher

Overview

This provides our students with an unparalleled, truly international learning experience. We are looking for a qualified and driven Mandarin Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. We are seeking team members who are :

Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree with a Mandarin / Chinese Language, Education, or a related field.

Teaching qualification and / or relevant teaching certification.

Fluency in Mandarin and proficiency in English.

Experience teaching Mandarin to primary or secondary students.

Experience with HSK or YCT preparation and assessment.

Familiarity with international or bilingual school settings.

Responsibilities Teaching and Learning

– Deliver engaging Mandarin lessons in line with the curriculum and timetable. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Promote Chinese culture throughout the community. Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learners.

Planning and Assessment

– Develop clear and differentiated lesson plans. Set high academic expectations and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students. Write high-quality student reports and participate in parent-teacher conferences.

Community and Cultural Engagement

– Collaborate with the SEGi Confucius Institute to support HSK and YCT assessments. Assist in organizing cultural events and initiatives to enhance students’ appreciation of Chinese heritage. Maintain open and professional communication with parents and the wider community.

Collaboration and Professionalism

– Contribute to team planning and staff meetings. Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across departments. Uphold school policies and participate in co-curricular activities, school events, and student welfare programmes.

Professional Development

– Stay informed about current pedagogical trends and best practices. Actively engage in professional learning and growth opportunities provided by the institution.
