Overview AVP, Learning & Development Specialist role at UOB, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will be a well‑rounded professional who can manage core L&D functions and provide operational and administrative support, helping to manage and execute key strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

Instructional Design & Digital Learning : Design and develop engaging learning solutions using formats such as e-learning, blended learning, and classroom training. Apply adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE).

Mandatory E-Learning Management : Manage the organization’s mandatory e-learning programs, ensuring compliance requirements are met.

GO1 Learning : Act as a point of contact for the GO1 learning platform. Develop plans to increase platform usage, curate content, and promote learning pathways to employees.

Annual Training Calendar Support : Assist in managing the annual training calendar, coordinate with external learning providers (ELPs), handle program logistics, and manage employee enrollment communications.

Operational & Administrative Support : Provide administrative support, including data entry, filing, document preparation, and vendor payment assistance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate on data‑driven projects and broader operational and project-based tasks.

Qualifications

Experience : 5–7 years in Learning and Development, with a strong background in instructional design and experience managing digital learning platforms.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office). E‑Learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) are an added advantage.

Project Management : Experience managing L&D projects from conception to completion.

Soft Skills :

Adaptability : Ability to adapt to new challenges and support varied tasks from strategic to administrative.

Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities related to technology, processes, and project execution.

Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication for collaboration with the team, stakeholders, and external partners.

Collaboration : Proactive and collaborative team player who can build positive relationships.

Education : Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.
