What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager based in Penang, you will be entrusted with steering a talented team towards achieving operational excellence across all facets of manufacturing engineering. Your daily responsibilities will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure every aspect of production—from initial concept through to full-scale manufacture—runs smoothly and efficiently.   • Work closely with all relevant departments to guarantee manufacturing line readiness for new products or changes in production schedules.
  • Provide comprehensive support to operations teams to ensure smooth day-to-day manufacturing activities while identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Champion improvements in operational efficiency by focusing on metrics such as uptime, throughput, and scrap rate reduction through data-driven analysis.
  • Identify and implement labour-saving projects aligned with annual cost-saving targets by leveraging operational excellence methodologies.

  • Actively participate in new business pursuits by contributing during the design phase and leading the manufacturing phase within the Product Development Process framework.

  • Expertise in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes allows you to seamlessly integrate new products into existing or novel production lines without disruption.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles—including Six Sigma methodologies—and practical experience running 5S programmes enables you to drive meaningful process improvements.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques empowers you to resolve complex issues efficiently while minimising recurrence risk.
  • Experience working within quality management systems such as ISO9001 / QS9000 / IATF16949 demonstrates your commitment to maintaining high standards of compliance and reliability.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills allow you to convey technical information clearly across diverse audiences.
