Preferably candidates with 3 years of related working experience in the education industry, especially those with experience working with young adults. MUST be a certified counsellor, registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM). Has outstanding communication skills - both written and oral (Mandarin and English). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients. Comfortable in dealing with students from different cultural backgrounds. Good communication skills and high emotional intelligence abilities. Excellent planning, observation, communication, interpersonal and time management skills.

To provide support to students in their academic, emotional, social, and career development. The counsellor works closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes personal growth, well-being, and academic success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions to address academic, personal, and social challenges.
- Assist students in setting goals and developing action plans for academic and personal growth.
- Provide crisis intervention and collaborate with teachers and parents on strategies for students with specific needs.
- Promote resilience, self-awareness, decision-making, and social-emotional learning (SEL).
- Facilitate discussions on diversity, cultural awareness, and global perspectives.
- Address issues such as bullying, peer conflicts, and social dynamics.
- Encourage participation in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and community service.
- Identify students needing additional support and coordinate tutoring or accommodations.
- Monitor academic progress and implement intervention strategies with teachers and parents.
- Provide guidance on study plans, organization, and time management.
- Work with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student well-being and development.
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events to stay informed on student needs.
- Participate in professional development to stay updated on counselling practices and requirements.
- Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress.
- Prepare reports for individualized education plans (IEPs) and program evaluation.
