Production Planning Senior Executive / Manager (Precision Machining industry)

Our client is a well-established precision engineering company , specializing in high-quality machinery parts for various industries, looking for a Senior Production Planner / Manager to join their team based at Subang Jaya.

Job Summary

The Planner will be responsible for the overall production planning and coordination across all machining and metal processing departments. This role requires deep understanding of precision manufacturing processes, machine capabilities, manpower capacity, and ERP system utilization to ensure optimal production flow, on-time delivery, and maximum efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, priorities, and capacity.
• Balance workloads across CNC, EDM, Grinding, Milling, Turning, Tool making, QC and Assembly departments.
• Anticipate bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules to maintain delivery commitments.
• Understand each metal processing machine’s capability, accuracy, and cycle time.
• Assign jobs according to the most suitable machine and process route.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering to optimize setups and minimize downtime.
• Evaluate each operator’s skill level and assign tasks accordingly.
• Monitor productivity and recommend training or reallocation when needed.
• Support shift and overtime planning to meet urgent delivery needs.
• Create, update, and monitor work orders in the ERP system.
• Track real-time job status, material availability, and machine utilization.
• Generate reports for management on planning accuracy, lead time, and output.
• Liaise with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to align job priorities.
• Ensure clear communication of changes, delays, or special requirements.
• Participate in daily production meetings and continuous improvement projects.
• Identify opportunities to shorten lead times and improve resource efficiency.
• Support process standardization and best practice implementation across planning.
