️ Senior Electrical Engineer – Pre-Contract Project Management Consultancy

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical scope of pre-contract construction projects within a dynamic project management consultancy environment. This role involves strong cost estimation, technical leadership, strategic planning, and direct management of a small team comprising of one Electrical Engineer and one Quantity Surveyor. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping electrical design strategies, cost planning, and tender documentation for high-value construction projects.

Pre-Contract Engineering Leadership

Lead the electrical design and specification process during the pre-contract phase.

Review and validate electrical engineering deliverables including schematics, load calculations, and compliance documentation.

Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP consultants to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Team Management

Supervise and mentor one Electrical Engineer and one Quantity Surveyor.

Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure quality and timeliness of outputs.

Foster collaboration and professional development within the team.

Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor to prepare accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities.

Provide technical input for tender documentation and contractor evaluation.

Review vendor proposals and assess technical compliance.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and present engineering solutions.

Represent the consultancy in meetings with developers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.

Ensure all designs meet local codes, international standards, and sustainability goals.

Risk & Compliance Oversight

Identify potential design risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Ensure all electrical designs comply with safety regulations and statutory requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 8–10 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry.

Proven experience in pre-contract consultancy or design management.

Strong leadership and team coordination skills.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Familiarity with local building codes and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, BS).
