This position will be responsible for leading and executing medical affairs activities across Malaysia and Singapore, with a primary focus on Malaysia. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), supporting market access and formulary inclusion, ensuring effective scientific communication, and acting as a license holder under NPRA requirements. The role also involves cross‑functional collaboration with internal teams to ensure alignment between medical, regulatory, and commercial objectives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Medical Affairs Role : Malaysia & Singapore
- KOL Engagement (MY only) – Cultivate and maintain professional relationships with KOLs, fostering partnerships in medical education and clinical / scientific research, and develop KOL advocacy to support effective communication and medical education initiatives.
- Market Access (MY only) – Build networks with key stakeholders (e.g., NPRA policy makers, P&T committees, purchasers) to secure product listings in national and hospital formularies; prepare dossiers and applications as required.
- CME & Scientific Presentations – Understand, interpret, and communicate scientific data effectively; deliver impactful medical presentations to KOLs and diverse audiences including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and commercial teams.
- Medical Planning & Training – Contribute to ISS set‑up, publication planning, development of medical education materials and programs, and conduct internal scientific training for the sales force.
- Medical Knowledge & Information – Maintain thorough and up‑to‑date knowledge of disease areas, clinical information, product data, and market landscape; provide accurate medical information in response to internal and external stakeholder enquiries.
- Cross‑functional Collaboration – Collect and share actionable insights and competitive intelligence, ensuring close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, Legal, and other internal teams.
Other Responsibilities
License Holder (MY only) – Act as the holder of wholesale and importation licenses in compliance with NPRA requirements.Medical Marketing – Collaborate with Marketing on localization and management of medical / marketing materials.Others – Work collaboratively and holistically with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all responsibilities and outcomes are met.Work Experience
Must be a Malaysia‑licensed pharmacist with active registration.Minimum of 10 years’ combined experience in a multinational pharmaceutical company is strongly preferred.Exposure to regulated environments (e.g., NPRA processes, medical governance, pharmacovigilance awareness) is expected.Prior experience in a multinational pharmaceutical company is strongly preferred.Skills and Specifications
Strong knowledge of therapeutic areas, clinical data, and product information.Familiar with NPRA requirements and local healthcare environment.Excellent ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and engagingly.Strong experience in KOL engagement and medical education activities.Skilled in planning and delivering CME presentations and internal training sessions.Education
