Overview
The Business Process Automation (BPA) Manager plays a key role in driving the organization’s digital transformation by identifying opportunities, designing scalable solutions, and implementing automation solutions that streamline business operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. This role requires a strong foundation in software development, process analysis, and project delivery, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions. The role ensures automation projects are executed from discovery and design to development, deployment, and optimization, aligned with business goals and technology standards. It also involves assessing the existing technology landscape to identify opportunities for automation and developing a robust, scalable BPA platform, while ensuring systems are updated and compliant with organizational standards and relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
Team or Talent Development :
Identify team members’ potential, implement talent development plans, training, coaching and support systems; build and lead a high-performing team delivering automation solutions aligned with business objectives; foster a culture of innovation, synergy and continuous learning.
Process Analysis & Design :
Conduct detailed analysis of existing business processes to identify automation opportunities; collaborate with business units to gather requirements and define process improvements; design end-to-end automated workflows using BPMN or other process modeling frameworks.
Automation Development & Implementation :
Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of automation solutions leveraging RPA, low-code / no-code platforms, and custom software; integrate automation tools with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CRM); ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of automation solutions.
Project & Stakeholder Management :
Oversee automation projects across the full lifecycle—from initiation to closure—ensuring on-time delivery and business alignment; engage with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, finance, and HR; provide regular project updates to senior leadership and manage change across stakeholders.
Governance & Optimization :
Define and enforce governance frameworks, standards and best practices for automation initiatives; monitor and evaluate performance of automated processes and implement enhancements to maximize efficiency and value; ensure compliance with data protection policies, security protocols and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security or related discipline.
Formal training or certification in business process management, automation platforms, or enterprise architecture is an advantage.
Minimum 8 years of working experience, including 3-5 years in a people management role.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in software development and IT operations management.
5-8 years of relevant experience in IT Operations, Software Development Management, Cybersecurity, Consulting, or Project Management.
Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects on time, within budget, and in line with specifications.
Prior experience in budget planning and management, vendor negotiation, and contract oversight.
