ABOUT THE POSITION :

Our Sales team is currently looking for a Sales Engineer located in APAC (Central / ASEAN) to fill a permanent position. The function requires frequent travel throughout the territory, between 50% to 75% of the time.

The Sales Engineer (APAC) plays a pivotal role at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Application Engineering across the APAC region. The mission is to initiate and advance high-value technical conversations with stakeholders across diverse markets (ANZ, ASEAN, India, Japan, Korea, Greater China).

This role drives proactive technical engagement, from discovery workshops, application scoping, and solution architecture to tailored demos / PoCs, while also identifying repeat business and standardizing winning use cases with Robotiq’s Palletizing, Screwdriving, Machine Tending, and EOAT application kits.

Reporting to the APAC Sales Director (with a dotted line to Support & Services), the Sales Engineer ensures tight alignment between technical validation activities and pipeline goals, while connecting with channel partners (distributors / integrators) to accelerate growth in the region.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD BE :

Sales & Territory Management

  • Build and execute sales plans for the territory and distributor network;
  • Provide reliable forecasts and maintain accuracy of CRM;
  • Balance direct and channel sales strategies for maximum efficiency.

Partner Management

  • Assess, develop, and coach distributors (New, Promising, Expert);
  • Train and enable partner sales reps and technical teams;
  • Perform funnel reviews and pipeline management with partners;
  • Strengthen collaboration with cobot manufacturers (e.g., Universal Robots).
  • Engineering & Pre-Sales

  • Discovery & Qualification : Run site / remote assessments, validate technical fit, identify constraints;
  • Application Scoping : Select Robotiq EOAT / application kits, draft cell concepts, layouts, and risk mitigation plans;
  • Demo & PoC : Plan, execute, and document demos with clear success criteria;
  • Proposal & ROI : Build BOMs, quotes, ROI models, and present options to customers;
  • Integration & Handoff : Define acceptance criteria, FAT / SAT checklists, and ensure first-time-right delivery.
  • Voice of Customer

  • Capture requirements and feedback for Product / Engineering;
  • Identify repeatable use cases to inform application kit development;
  • Track post-deployment outcomes and feed insights back to Sales.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electronic or electrical) or degree in a related field;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in technical solution sales in industrial automation, robotics, or packaging;
  • Highly motivated self-starter (entrepreneurial skillset) with ownership and accountability of results;
  • Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships;
  • Service oriented and keen troubleshooting skills;
  • Full proficiency in English along one local spoken and written language;
  • Availability for travel up to 75% of your time within APAC or other potential areas - Ensure possession of a valid passport and driving license;
  • Asset : Experience with Universal Robots (UR) Cobots.
