Desktop Claims Handler (Property or Casualty claims)
Location : Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Sedgwick is looking for a Desktop Claims Handler to manage and assess claim files in a professional manner by working with policy holders, insurers, brokers, colleagues and other professionals to determine claim validity. This role involves handling desktop-based claims from first notice of loss to finalisation, communicating with clients and claimants, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout the claims process.
Responsibilities
- Manage claims on desktop (without site survey) from start (first notice of loss) to end (finalisation)
- Communicate with clients / claimants via phone and email to address queries and request information or supporting documentation
- Examine documentation and evidence to determine claim validity
- Evaluate claims based on policy coverage and determine whether conditions have been met and exclusions applied
- Maintain accurate, thorough and up-to-date claim file documentation in the electronic claims management system
- Ensure all data and supporting documents are entered into the claims management system
- Manage an open portfolio of claims in a timely manner, in line with client SLAs
- Identify and investigate potentially fraudulent claims with referral to Team Leader
- Model ethical behaviour and execute responsibilities in accordance with Sedgwick’s core values, legal requirements, and regulatory policies
Requirements
A diploma or degree in any disciplineProfessional certificates in insurance are desiredMinimum three (3) years of experience in end-to-end management of commercial claims for property and / or casualtyWorking knowledge of industry insurance policies / wordings and the claims life cycleStrong command of spoken and written EnglishGood analytical and numeracy skillsExcellent interpersonal and critical thinking skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)Ability to work independently and demonstrate personal initiativeTime management with ability to multi-task and adapt to priority changesProficiency in Mandarin and / or Cantonese is an added advantageTeam player with ability to collaborate to deliver client commitmentsAnalytical, problem solving and organizational abilitiesMeticulous attention to detailSedgwick is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
