Overview
Responsible for overseeing the selection, maintenance, and management of tools and equipment used in the manufacturing or production processes.
Lead tooling team to technical account strategies that align to customer business requirements and Company goals.
Managing all tooling operations efficient, cost-effective, and adhering to safety and quality standards.
Collaborating with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Developing technical capability within the team, Identifying, providing, and facilitating solutions to engineering and technical problems.
Collaborating with vendor on ways to enhance tooling capability to increase productivity with low cost.
Manage Continuous Cost Saving Projects to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability, or cost-effectiveness.
Participated in the design DFM and testing of prototypes and tooling solutions.
Manage the budget for tooling expenses, including procurement, maintenance, and repair costs.
Ensure all tooling practices comply with safety regulations, quality and industry standards.
Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all safety procedures are followed.
Responsibilities
Provides technical direction and business guidance to tooling team to explore innovative methods for improving team performance and company profitability.
Ability to plan and prioritize tasks related to tooling procurement, maintenance, and development.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address tooling issues and optimize processes.
Ability to inspire and lead a team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Competence in analyzing performance data to make informed decisions and improvements.
Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
Capability to drive innovation in tooling design and processes to enhance production efficiency.
Managing budgets for tooling expenses, including procurement, maintenance, and repairs.
Deep understanding of tooling design, manufacturing processes, and materials used in production.
Experience
Min 10 years’ experience in tooling management, including tool design, procurement, and maintenance.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Competencies
Proficiency in CAD and other engineering tools used for tooling design and analysis.
Understanding and addressing the needs of internal stakeholders and external customers.
High level of attention to detail in tool design, maintenance, and quality control. Also ensuring all tooling specifications and documentation are precise and accurate.
Capability to drive innovation in tooling design and processes to enhance production efficiency.
Analyze, propose & manage budgets, technologies, and resources for projects.
Deep understanding of tooling design, manufacturing processes, and materials used in production.
