Role Overview : The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing the purchase of direct materials to support uninterrupted production operations across multiple plant locations. The role emphasizes supplier management, material cost control, and ensuring timely availability of raw materials to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities for direct materials required by multiple plants, consolidating material requirements to achieve cost efficiency and reliable supply.
- Review and analyze supplier quotations, ensuring fair allocation of orders based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Establish, maintain, and strengthen supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery performance.
- Oversee monthly price and contract negotiations with suppliers to secure stability in cost and supply.
- Support internal teams on material delivery issues to prevent production disruptions.
- Coordinate approvals for new material introductions, including industrial trials and validations.
- Conduct market analysis on raw materials and feedstock to provide timely insights to management.
- Provide accurate and timely raw material cost forecasts to support sales quotation processes.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to support sourcing of new materials for product development.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, health, and environmental requirements in all purchasing activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.Minimum 8–10 years of experience in purchasing within the manufacturing sector, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity.Strong understanding of raw material markets and supplier management practices.Demonstrated ability to achieve measurable cost savings and improve supplier performance.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with production, sales, and R&D functions.Knowledge of quality, safety, health, and environmental compliance standards.Note : Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
